On Wednesday I was sooo excited! I could not contain my excitement, I was dancing around and smiling all day. I was in a state of disbelief that I was going to meet Katelyn James! When I woke up on Thursday my excitement had changed to nerves. I was so nervous. But the moment that she said hi the nerves went away. She is so sweet and humble.
My day with Katelyn James started at noon on Thursday. I met Katelyn, her husband Michael, and Sam (another photog) for lunch in Richmond. Since I am allergic to so many things I ate beforehand because I didn’t want to risk having an allergic reaction and ruining my day with Katelyn. We got to know each other during lunch and then she took us to get frozen yogurt. Yum! After that it was time to shoot with Katelyn. She took us to a nearby parking garage and then to a field to shoot in different lighting situations. It was so awesome to have her take my head shots. I cannot wait to get them on my website!!
After we finished with the head shots Katelyn and I went to her house for our one on one time. 🙂 When we walked in we were greeted by Bokeh, her adorable dog. I’m telling you, he is the cutest dog I’ve ever seen. He look like a doll he is so cute! My one on one time with Katelyn was my favorite part of the day. She is so caring and sweet! She helped me with having confidence in my business. Which is one thing that has been holding me back. There are may changes coming soon!! I am very excited! I will be getting a logo and new website. My prices are changing as of today. And I am going to start blogging regularly.
I learned too many things to put in one blog post, so I am going to start a mini series on things that I learned and things that I already knew. It will be tips on editing, posing, making your clients feel comfortable in front of your camera, and also my journey of branding my company. Now I just need to come up with a name for the mini series. 🙂
